On April 22, the Department of Automation, Information Technology and Urban Planning organized a round table on the topic "Chernobyl is a disaster of the XX century". The purpose to tell the story of the Chernobyl disaster, to instill in the younger generation respect for the heroism of those who fought against the consequences of the disaster, to awaken a sense of responsibility and concern for the environment. 
This year marks the 38th anniversary of the Chernobyl event, which caused irreparable consequences for humanity.
The event was attended by veterans who participated in the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl accident, Gaiduk Alexander Mikhailovich and Kaysanov Sovetkazy Bekenovich, teaching staff and students of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology.
Senior lecturer of the department, veteran Kaysanov Sovetkazy Bekenovich, who participated in the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster, showed the younger generation a video with a report on the history of the Chernobyl disaster, about the feat of those who went to eliminate the consequences of the accident.
Veteran Gaiduk Alexander Mikhailovich told about when and for what reason the Chernobyl disaster occurred, which brought irreparable consequences to humanity.
The event continued with student reports on the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
At the end of the event, the dean of the faculty, Nurimkhan G.N., presented letters of thanks, thanking concerned citizens for their invaluable feat.
